I certainly won&#8217;t give away any plot details here, but there is one thing I want to say about it: the film is an ode to <strong>recognition<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The recognition that many of us missed out on from our parents as children. Recognition of our mistakes, but above all, recognition of our pain, our sadness, our anger, and our helplessness. Recognition of who we are, regardless of all the labels that have been slapped on us.  <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">&#8220;Recognition means giving space to what is, to what lives within us, and to who we and others are.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Give recognition<\/h2>\n<p>Because we\u2019ve received so little <a href=\"https:\/\/ontdekjeheiligegraal.com\/welke-handvatten-heb-je-om-te-helen\/\">recognition<\/a>, we find it difficult to give it to ourselves later in life. And yet it\u2019s essential that we do so. It\u2019s one of your <a href=\"https:\/\/ontdekjeheiligegraal.com\/welke-handvatten-heb-je-om-te-helen\/\"><em>heroic tools<\/em><\/a>, your resources on your healing journey.  <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What all needs to be recognized?<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our pain<\/li>\n<li>Our History<\/li>\n<li>Our Present<\/li>\n<li>The child within us<\/li>\n<li>Our feelings<\/li>\n<li>Our actions<\/li>\n<li>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/ontdekjeheiligegraal.com\/welke-behoeften-heb-ik\/\">needs<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ontdekjeheiligegraal.com\/en\/how-do-i-live-in-accordance-with-my-desires\/\">desires<\/a><\/li>\n<li>And\u2026 who we truly are: our <a href=\"https:\/\/ontdekjeheiligegraal.com\/wat-is-je-heilige-graal\/\">Holy Grail<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5> <\/h5>\n<h3>Why don&#8217;t we give recognition?<\/h3>\n<p>So why do we often find it so difficult to give <strong>recognition<\/strong>? First of all, we aren\u2019t taught to do so enough by those around us, with our parents playing a major role in this. But even when we are taught to do so, it often feels like a lot of hassle.  <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We\u2019d rather not face feelings of unease, discomfort, or helplessness.<\/span>  And at first, we often sense this when something starts brewing beneath the surface. It\u2019s all just uncomfortable, and we want to get past it as quickly as possible. <\/p>\n<p>So: we work hard, party, exercise, take medication or other substances. Anything to avoid feeling that lingering sense of unease, anxiety, or pain\u2014and certainly to avoid <em>acknowledging it.<\/em> <\/p>\n<h3>Why is recognition necessary?<\/h3>\n<p>Why is it important to <strong>acknowledge<\/strong> these feelings? When we don\u2019t, <em>we deny <\/em>our pain, our past, our present, the child within us, our emotions, our actions, and who we are. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We deny our needs and our truth.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p>And that inevitably leads to addiction, fight-or-flight responses. So it pushes us further and further into survival mode.   <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">This can leave us feeling numb, empty, and lonely.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We may even feel down or depressed. All because we don\u2019t make room for or pay attention to what\u2019s going on inside us, what we need, what our story is, and what we carry with us\u2014or who we are. <\/p>\n<h2>What happens when it is recognized?<\/h2>\n<p>If we were to acknowledge this, we might feel comfort, connection, space, freedom, and compassion. All of this with ourselves and that little \u201cI\u201d within us. Then we could step out of our endless stream of thoughts and break free from our downward spiral of uncomfortable feelings. We could take responsibility and live\u2014truly live.   <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">That is why <em>recognition <\/em>is <em>so <\/em>important.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Does this article appeal to you?
